Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP)

Pakistan’s government started the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) back in July 2008. It was a response to protect people from economic hardships like rising food prices and the global financial crisis issues. The program focuses on helping vulnerable women & their families across all ethnicities and backgrounds. Plus, it’s aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aimed at fighting extreme poverty and lifting women up.
